Rheology, the study of flow and deformation of materials, is an interdisciplinary research area in the field of material sciences and engineering. Its importance in both scientific and industrial developments has been growing rapidly. For an advancement of rheological research, a multidisciplinary research forum must be set up for researchers to meet and share their work, as well as to extend their networks to foster inter-institute and/or international collaborations on a basis of their friendships and common interest. Thus, last year, the Thai rheology group (TRG) successfully organized the first rheology symposium in Thailand. Following this success, TRG organizes the International Rheology Symposium as a session in the 21st International Union of Materials Research Societies International Conference in Asia (IUMRS-ICA; supported by Materials Research Society of Thailand) held at the Empress Hotel, Chiang Mai, Thailand, in February 23-26, 2021. This symposium will provide a great opportunity for scientists/participants to meet and share thier latest research and development in the field of rheology, and we cordially invite you to join us at the symposium. For the scientific content of the symposium, please see the list in the following pages. Please visit the web, http://iumrs-ica2020.com, for your registration and abstract submission. TRG, the symposium organizing team, was formed on a personal basis through continuous commitment to the International Workshop for East Asian Young Rheologists (IWEAYR; taken care by Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Thai groups in a circulating manner and organized every year since 2006). The International Rheology Symposium in this year will allow TRG to grow into an official, international group participating in the International Congress on Rheology (ICR). It will also boost rheological education in Thailand. Your participation in this symposium is very helpful for this growth and highly appreciated.
